Triangle Palm

I only discovered it yesterday, one of our Triangle Palm trees is blooming! We have two of them in the garden and only one has developed this extra branch. I am looking forward to see the flowers and the fruits on this specimen.

Limestone

Beautiful limestone rock formations behind the bench where I had my lunch in the Royal Botanical Gardens in Sydney. I love stone especially when it's shaped in different ways and coloured by the weather.

Sulphur Crested Cockatoo

This is the last bird from the series of my visit to the Botanical Gardens in Sydney early February. These sulphur crested cockatoos where very keen on the seeds of these firs. They didn't want to be disturbed and when I came a bit too close one was setting up his yellow head feather which was beautiful!

Magpie

This cute youngster was stepping along with me through the Botanical Gardens for quite a while, he was making those garbling sounds Magpies are making, I love them!

Common Myna

These birds you see everywhere in Sydney but I have never seen them over here in WA. The bottom one must be a youngster, she still looks so immature and was hopping away from me.

Sacred Ibis

I saw lots of birds in the Botanical Gardens in Sydney, also these sacred ibises. We have them also around Lake Claremont. They look like they've burned there heads in a big fire and went on breeding. The wrinkled necks show pink spots when stretched... Some of them look pretty scruffy, the white coat is dirty grey and they need to scrach themselves a lot.

Bamboo

I spend quite a while in the Botanical Gardens of Sydney last Thursday, it's so pieceful and relaxed, even though it was a very humid and cloudy hot day. And I never get enough of the natural beauty surrounding me.

Masked Lapwing

This funny yellow masked bird was following me in the Botanical gardens last week when I was in Perth. Isn't he a cutie?
