There was a whole lot of this kind of rubbery softfeel seaweed at the beach north of Jurien Bay on the long weekend of ANZAC day. I loved the texture and the squeezyness of it, how beautiful it is...
It's called Codium Fragile also known as Dead man's fingers, sponge weed or rats feet. A very invasive species but edible. Raw Codium has an earthy flavor, much like oysters, and is full of vitamins and fatty acids.
Nothing can compare to the original shapes of flora and fauna. Life is beautiful and while wandering around I regularly have a lucky find of some real pretty things. I used to take them home but nowadays I take my digital camera with me and leave them in place. They are my inspiration!
