Hollyhock

The hollyhocks I've sown last year are finally in full bloom, pink and white ones, so pretty. I love these old fashioned flowers and I've already spotted the dark red variety in our neighbourhood so I will go begging for seeds in a few months!

Jacaranda

It's the time of year again, everything is purple in some streets of Perth, also in our street are several of these beauties spread along the verges. Wattlebirds are enjoying the nectar and I enjoy the massive color explosion.

Fly

There are many types of flies and today I came across this one in the garden, he is beuatiful with his pin stripes and big brown eyes. Unfortunately my camera wasn't participating.

Spring

A couple of bees enjoying the nectar from this bush grevillea in Bold Park yesterday. Or is it a bottlebrush?

Butterfly leaves

Yesterday, when walking from the city to City West station my eyes where drawn to the weird shape of these leaves, as big as my hand, laying on the path. It looked like butterfly wings. Unfortunately the bush or tree where they were growing on was in poor condition as all leaves had brown spots and it didn't look that healthy. I've no idea what kind of tree that is but when it was healthy those leave would look magnificent!

Magpie

This young magpie was visiting me yesterday afternoon while I was taking a break in my garden. It's the first time a magpie came into our garden, they are pretty territorial, hope he will stay to live here, I like their sound.

Longneck turtle

About a month ago in Lake Claremont, finally after a few years without seeing any they were there again!

Pink again

This weird succulent kind of plant is growing in a big pot in my garden and suddenly started flowering again. Tiny pink flowers are all over the place making it look like a nice pink curtain.

Araluen Botanical Park's Magnolia's where also blooming a few weeks ago.

Chalet Healy in Araluen Botanical Park has beautiful overgrown veranda's and it's a pleasure to enjoy a Devon tea under the lovely smelling wysteria.

Baby swans on the Swan River near Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club a few weeks back.

I first thought this curly thing on the leave was part of the leave but it appeared to just hooked on still searching for a better spot.
