Hakea laurina
Also called Pin-cushion Hakea, is growing on my verge. I've planted the tiny seedling a few years ago and it had two flowers last year autumn which are now the seed pods. This month it started flowering again with many more flowers.
I don't know how large it will grow so I keep it low pruned as it's prohibited to have large plants on the verge unfortunately.

Gall wasp?
I think this is the eggs of the gall wasp, but I am not totally sure... Anyway, it's a beautiful decoration of a dry gum leave.

Green Grasshopper or Katydid
This green beauty was sitting just a few meters from our back door today, on this cooler summer day. After a few very hot days it finally cooled down and that seems to come with more life in the garden. Not sure if it's a grass hopper or a katydid, but it didn't hop but flew to the wall when I came a little bit too close with my camera.

Sea anemones in Coogee Beach
I love this but I am too scared of going under water so I am so happy to have Michele taking so many photos of this amazing underwater world.
And they not only see lots of sea life stuck to the barrier but also many fish, this is a Shaw's Cowfish, a Leatherjacket, a Boxfish and a Western boxfish.

Motorbike frog
Look what I found in my garden today! This little guy was just hanging out on the edge of one of my veggie pots on the side of the house. I was so happy to spot him, the first of this spring!

Everlasting flower on our verge
White Everlasting flower on my verge! I've got some seeds and sown them on the verge in winter in several patches and so happy that they are growing. Hope they will return every year from now!

Spiderweb by CK
My friend Christine from New Zealand sends me regular updates of her garden and with them came those two beauties of a big wet spiderweb. I thought it deserved a place on my inspiration blog, and got permission to, even though I didn't take the photos myself.

Blue
During my walk at Swanbourne beach, last week Friday afternoon, I saw those beautiful Blue bottles, all puffed up on the beach, like plastic balloons...
